Transport Supervisor is responsible to plan, coordinate, and monitor bus operations as part of transportation specifically 15-seater Bus, 30-seater Bus and 57-Seater Bus and responsible for supervising a team of Bus Drivers ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
This role involves effective supervision of Bus Ops team,
ensuring efficient and safe operations through compliance with Standard Safety
Procedures and guidelines, and overseeing route planning, work assignments,
performance monitoring, training and upskilling programs.
Responsibilities
- Involved in the bus operations with safely moving employees to and from work sites
- Vehicle count - you will need to ensure the correct number of vehicles are listed at the top front of the escort vehicle, this lets the other road users who pull over know the number of Buses
- Implement all the Safety Policies and Procedures with consistency and compliances
- Oversees the efficient operation of transportation services, ensuring timely and safe transportation of all employees
- Manage and schedule staff, including drivers and dispatchers, maintain vehicle maintenance and compliance with maintenance schedules safety regulations
- Work within budgets with cost control measures, implement improvement tasks to enhance service quality
- Ensure all vehicles prestart checks are safe and free from visual defects to ensure all checks have been carried out and fit for travel on the road
Nice to have
- Strong organizational and leadership skills are desirable to lead and motivate a team of developers
- Strong analytical skills are necessary to identify and resolve issues
- Technical knowledge and experience in transport operations, risk assessment and regulatory compliance
- Proficient in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Have some advantage in fleet maintenance background
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure
- Identify and resolve inter-personal issues and managing team of Bus Operators
Must Have
- Grade 12 qualification (highly regarded)
- Have experience and skills in Bus background with PNG Class 1,3 or 6 driving licenses operating 15-seater buss, 30-seater bus and/or 57-seater bus
- Some previous experience in transport and logistics business specifically dealing with Bus Transportations
- Must have valid class 1,3 & 6 license (s)
