Milum Services Limited (MSL) is looking to hire suitably qualified and experienced Automotive Electrician with good work ethics to support our Maintenance Department. 

The automotive Electrician will be responsible for diagnoses, repairs, installs, and maintains electrical systems and components in heavy duty linehaul trucks including prime movers, fuel tankers/trailers and mine buses. The role is to ensures the electrical reliability and compliance of fleet vehicle used in long -haul freight and mining operations. Job based in Tabubil, Western Province and on 4 Weeks on and 2 Weeks Off Roster.

 

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose electrical faults in prime mover trucks, fuel tankers, trailers and mine buses using diagnostic tools and software.
  • Repair or replace faulty wirings, alternators, starters, batteries, lighting system, sensor, EUGs, and CAN bus systems.
  • Perform routine inspections on electrical systems to prevent break downs.
  • Test and calibrate electronic components according to manufacturer's specifications.
  • Maintain accurate service records and report defects promptly.
  • Ensure all work compiles with company procedures, safety standards, and industry Requirements.


Must Have

  • Grade 12 certificate with good grades in Physics & Maths A.
  • Recognized Trade Certificate in Automotive Electrical or an equivalent qualification.
  • Relevant experience in automotive electrical maintenance and repairs.
  • Experience working on heavy Vehicle, plant or fleet equipment will be highly regarded. Valvo experience will be an advantage.
  • Sound knowledge of electrical diagnostics tools and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Strong commitment to workplace health, safety and environment standards.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of team.
  • A valid PNG Driver's license is Desirable. 
  • Must have at least a minimum of 3 years' work experience in heavy road transport equipment electrical system in Mining or Transport industry.
