The role will be responsible for ensuring all
controlling factors that minimize risks, are adhered to Safety Procedures. The
convoy is one of MSL’s permanent and ongoing logistics transport services for
OTML and it is also one of the critical OTML services carried out by MSL. The
Nature of the work and the frequency in which it is carried out are the key
aspects that you are responsible to control.
Key Responsibilities
- Coordinating linehaul operations focus on moving goods over long distances convoy on the Tabubil - Kiunga highway from Kiunga to Tabubil
- Ensure all vehicles prestart checks are safe and free from visual defects to ensure all checks have been carried out and are fit for travel on the road
- Ensure all Drivers/Operators are issued with fatigue watch and records are well monitored in accordance with the Safety and fatigue management policy
- Ensure the correct number of vehicles are listed at the top front of the escort vehicle with total number of trucks going on the convoy on daily basis.
- Ensure that all transport under supervision is undertaken and follow all Convoy structure in the safest way to avoid incidents.
- Manage and schedule staff, including drivers and dispatchers, maintain vehicle maintenance and compliance with safety regulations
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in transport and logistics specifically dealing with heavy equipment
- Previous experience in linehaul operator roles with valid class-4 driving license would be advantage
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure
- Strong organizational and leadership skills desirable to lead and motivate a team of developers
- Strong problem-solving skills are required to identify and resolve technical issues.
- Proficient in computer software programs such as Microsoft Office and excellent communication and interpersonal skills
