Milum Services Limited (MSL) is currently seeking a highly organized and proactive Parts Expeditor to support our Maintenance Department. This role is essential in ensuring the timely sourcing, coordination, and delivery of parts for Volvo trucks, 57-seater buses, tankers, trailers, and associated equipment.
The successful candidate will be
responsible for effective coordination and monitoring of the movements and
inventory stock levels of all essential mobile equipment parts and maintenance tools
for the MSL fleets maintained and engaged for the Transport Operations of the
business.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure to minimize downtime, maintain accurate inventory levels, and keep workshop operations running efficiently through strong supplier coordination, effective communication, and attention to detail.
- Monitor parts inventory levels and forecast requirements for Volvo & other trucks, Volvo and Yutong buses, tankers/trailers, and ancillary equipment.
- Source, order, and expedite delivery of parts to maintain optimum stock levels.
- Coordinate with workshop supervisors, mechanics, and external vendors to prioritize urgent requirements
- Monitor and track incoming shipments, manage stock receipts, and resolve supply delays or discrepancies.
- Maintain accurate records of parts usage, stock movements, and supplier performance.
- Support cost-control efforts by identifying reliable suppliers and ensuring timely deliveries.
What We're Looking For
- Previous experience in parts expediting, inventory control, or supply coordination-ideally within transport, trucking, or heavy-vehicle maintenance.
- Strong understanding or truck and trailer components (experience with Volvo trucks or fuel tanker/trailer equipment is highly regarded)
- Good communication and negotiation skills when dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
- Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel) and familiarity with inventory software such as Pronto.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively under pressure.
- Grade 12 qualification (highly regarded).
