POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking Auto Electricians - Linehaul Road Transport Equipment Maintenance to join our team in Tabubil, Western province.
The Automotive Electrician is responsible for
diagnosing, repairing, installing, and maintaining electrical systems and
components in heavy-duty linehaul trucks, including prime movers, tankers /trailers,
and 57-seater mine buses. The role ensures the electrical reliability and
compliance of fleet vehicles used in long-haul freight and mining operations
Key Responsibilities
- Diagnose electrical faults in prime mover trucks, trailers and mine buses using diagnostic tools and software (e.g., Volvo Tech Tool)
- Repair or replace faulty wiring, alternators, starters, batteries, lighting systems, sensors, ECUs, and CAN bus systems
- Perform routine inspections on electrical systems to prevent breakdowns
- Test and calibrate electronic components according to manufacture standards.
- Maintain safety and environmental standards when handling batteries, wiring, and electrical tools
- Accurately complete maintenance reports, job cards, and diagnostic records.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must have Grade 12 certificate with Physics / Maths A
- Trade Certificate in Automotive Electrical
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heavy road transport equipment electrical systems
- Experience with Volvo, Kenworth, or other linehaul truck brands preferred.
- PNG Driver's license (desirable).
