  We are seeking a compassionate and experienced Heavy Equipment Fitter Consultant to join our team. The ideal candidate will oversee the maintenance, repair, and operation of heavy machinery used in mining operations. Your expertise will ensure that our equipment functions optimally, adheres to safety standards, and contributes to efficient mining processes.

Responsibilities

  •   1. Equipment Maintenance and Repairs: 
  •   * Inspect, diagnose, and repair heavy equipment used in mining operations. 
  •   * Collaborate with maintenance teams to ensure timely and efficient equipment repairs. 
  • * Conduct preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and maximize equipment lifespan.
  • * Provide technical expertise and guidance to Tradesman & Trade Assistant Fitters and mechanics.
  • * Evaluate equipment performance and recommend improvements or upgrade
  • * Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities and equipment history.
  •  * Stay-up to date with industry trends and advancements in heavy equipment technology.
  • * Adhere to safety protocols and promote a safe work environment. 

Must Have

  • Trade Qualification or related fieldHold a relevant trade certificate (e.g., Heavy Equipment Fitter, Diesel Mechanic).
  • Experience: Mining experience is essential. Demonstrated experience in maintaining and repairing heavy equipment used in mining, particular haul truck, backhoe, loaders, excavators, and mobile cranes.
  • Supervisor Skills: Proven ability to lead a team of mechanical tradespeople.
  • Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in diagnosing equipment issues and implementing effective solutions. Skilled in coordinate with team members to complete projects on schedule, collaborating effectively with Tradesman Fitters when working on large scale projects.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members, operators, and management.
