  We are seeking an experienced Auto Electrician to join our mining team. As an Auto Electrician, you will be responsible for maintaining and repairing electrical systems in heavy equipment machinery used in mining operations. Your expertise will contribute to the smooth functioning of our fleet, ensuring safety, reliability, and efficiency. Responsibilities

  •   1. Electrical Repair and Maintenance: 
  • * Diagnose, repair, and maintain electrical components in mining machinery, including haul trucks, excavators, bulldozers and loaders. 
  • *  Troubleshoot and resolve electrical issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  •    * Conduct schedule servicing and inspections to ensure machinery operates efficiently and safely.
  •  2. Wiring and Circuitry: 
  • * Wire & connect electrical systems, including lighting, sensors, control panels, and communication devices.
  • * Ensure proper grounding and insulation to prevent electrical hazards.
  •  * Repair or replace damaged wiring and connectors.
  •  3. Component Testing and Calibration:
  •  * Tests calibrate electrical components such as alternators.
  •  * Check lighting, alarms, and communication systems.
  •   * Collaborate with instrumentation technicians for accurate readings.
  • 3. Emergency Repairs: 
  • * Respond to breakdowns promptly, especially during critical mining operations.
  • * Prioritize urgent repairs to minimize production disruption
  • * Work efficiently under pressure to restore equipment functionality.
  • 4. Documentation and Reporting: 
  • * Document all maintenance activities, repairs, and replacements.
  •  * Generate reports on equipment performance, electrical upgrade, and modifications. 
  • * Communicate findings to supervisors and relevant teams.

Must Have

  • Trade Qualification or related fieldHold a relevant trade certificate (e.g. Auto Electrician trades certificate).
  • Experience: Mining experience is essential. Demonstrated experience in heavy equipment auto electrical maintenance particular haul truck, backhoe, loaders, excavators, and mobile cranes.
  • Diagnostic Skills: Proven ability to complex electrical issues.
  • Safety Conscious: Strong commitment to safety protocols and guidelines.
  • Problem Solving: Skilled in diagnosing equipment issues and implementing effective solutions.
  • Communication: Excellent communication skills to coordinate with team members, operators, and management.
